WEEK 19

Last Wednesday I began my 19th week. I am now more than half way to week 20. The baby is becoming more active daily. It seems every day this week has been a new experience for me. The baby has decided it likes to wedge itself between my uterus and bladder, causing me to have bladder pain and frequent urination as well as a hard not in the front of my uterus. This is very painful. I normally can get the baby to move if I massage my uterus for a while. Other than this, the baby doesn't move its postion in my stomach very much. I kicks in roughly the same spot every time. I go for my next ultrasound on June 7. Hopefully we will get to see what the baby is since this is the last ultrasound they will give us unless there is a problem with the baby. With every kick and movement I fall more in love with this baby. This is an experience I could never have prepared for. It is so different from what I expected. The baby moving is the oddest feeling I have ever had. I haven't grown very much larger yet. I have probably only gained a couple of pounds since my last doctors appointment. I seem to be progressing normally. I am so very happy about this.

WEEK 18

Today I started week 18. I feel the baby once in a while if I concentrate. Last week I hit a growth spurt. I now look pregnant. I am still not huge. Morning sickness seems to be gone. I am still having occassional nose bleeds.

The baby may have frequent hiccups that jerk my stomach around starting this week. The baby is also supposed to have its first bowel movement. The baby is around 1/2 a pound now.

WEEK 16

I started my 16th week today. I am doing a lot better, but had a bought with morning sickness this morning. It has been a while though. First time in a week. The only other time I got sick this week, I was upset. Every time I cry I throw up it seems.

I am supposed to start feeling the baby a little this week. I felt it for the first time last week. It was like bubbles and tickled. The baby's bones are hardening now, which is why I am supposed to feel it more.

I had a doctors appointment yesterday. I got to hear the baby. I heard the heartbeat, but the doctor had a hard time keeping it. The baby was so active, it was swimming all over the place. Even kicked hard enough to make a loud sound in the doppler thingy. I was so proud of the baby. It seems to be very healthy and extremely active. I have gained 5 pounds now. I guess that explains the bulge on my stomach.

I started getting nose bleeds last weekend. These pregnancy side effects are just no fun. I am ready for a breather. I am stuffy all the time and get bad headaches now. But mostly no throwing up. I guess that is something to be thankful for. Which of course I am very glad. I still don't have any energy, but thinks are getting better. I am not feeling like I don't want to do this anymore. I am very much in love with my baby now.
